Description

Our glider support, crafted from robust steel and finished with a green powder coating, is designed for connection to a wooden structure, specifically a 4 x 4 wood beam, enabling a four-point attachment for the glider. Additionally, this support is compatible with pipe structures. The assembly works seamlessly with our SH142 swing hangers.

The support comes with three 14mm holes. On the 11 7/8″ side, the two holes’ centers are positioned 7 7/8″ apart, situated 1″ below where the beam would rest on the pipe. The solitary hole’s center is situated at a 6″ distance on the welded segment perpendicular to the two poles, and 1 3/8″ away from the outer edge. A 14mm hole is slightly larger than 1/2″, yet smaller than a 9/16″ hole.

Given harsh conditions, this glider support is designed to endure for 2 years, while under optimal conditions, its lifespan could reach up to 5 years. However, certain circumstances may necessitate an earlier replacement.

This is for children 5 – 12 years old only. Adults should supervise children at all times. Do not allow children to use unsafely. Do not allow it to be used if damaged.

Testing Information

GS Lead 4-16-11

IMPORTANT: Please read for important information. In this material we have tried to provide some requirements stated in the CPSC Handbooks, ASTM F2373-11, F1487-11 and F1148-09. However, we in no way intend for this to be a complete list of requirements. Also these publications are updated frequently with changes therefore, you should read these publications yourself to determine if any part or installation could prove a danger to a child.

To help keep children safe from harm, review installation and maintenance instructions before installing equipment. These are located in the description of every product on our website. www.jensenswing.com   Download and print these instructions and keep in a safe place. Our website also has a “Product Testing Information” page. All products are tested for lead, phthalates and tensile strength. You can also call us at 1-800-227-7529 for more information or see http://www.cpsc.gov/cpscpub/pubs/325.pdf.

Installation: Our parts are sold as either replacement parts or components of a set, unless you are buying our Metal Frame Set, therefore these parts need to be installed according to the sets installation instructions. If the installation instructions differ from ours please contact us at 800-227-7529.

If your swing set has a single beam across the top, you may need to install a glider support. This will produce a four point mounting system. The flat piece with one hole goes on top of the beam with the side with two holes bolted flush against the beam. You will need to drill holes into the beam in order to install the bolts. The bolts should be two ½” x 3” lag bolts and the top bolt should be ½” and then whatever length your beam is. This bolt needs to go through the beam from the top of the beam and have a nylock nut and washer attached to it on the bottom of the beam. Make sure nut is tight and not more than two threads of bolt are protruding beyond nut. If you are installing this on a pipe, then you would need to drill a hole through the pipe and put a bolt through the pipe and the glider support. Do the same at the top of the glider support and at the two holes on the side. If the bolt supplied is too long, you will need to purchase a shorter bolt so that no more than two threads are showing beyond the nut. You will need to purchase ½” bolts, sufficiently long enough to go through pipe and a have a nylock nut attached with no more than two threads showing beyond the nut for a pipe installation. Four 2 ½” hangers will go through the four end holes. The nylock nuts should be attached at the top of the assembly with the swing hangers at the bottom of the assembly. Make sure nut is tight and not more than two threads of bolt are protruding beyond nut. Fasteners should be attached to the swing hangers and then attached to the glider. Make sure all hardware is tightened tight and closed according to Figure A1.19 for Fastening Devices.

Maintenance: At beginning and end of each play season and once a month during play season, check for rust, sharp edges and/or cracks. Check for vandalism, check for worn or rusty chain. Check to make sure spring clips, S-hooks and/or Shackles and swing hangers are closed properly, and not worn out. Replace parts if necessary.

Any damage from vandalism, abuse or misuse VOIDS all warranties.
