Description
Our set of 12 Extra Large Rock grips is perfect for adding an exciting rock climbing experience to your playset. These plastic blow molded rocks are crafted from durable polypropylene (PP). The set includes three different shapes, with two sets of each shape for a total of 12 rocks. There are six rocks that measure 6 x 4 x 3” and six sets of rocks that measure 6 x 5 x 3”. Each rock has two holes spaced 3” center to center, with the 6 x 5 x 3” rocks requiring two different sizes of mounting screws and washers. One side of the two holes requires a 3/8” x 1 ½” screw or bolt and washer, while the other side requires one #14 screw or bolt x 1 ½” and washer. The remaining 10 rocks all require two each of #14 screws or bolts by 1 ½” and washers. Please note that attaching screws or bolts and washers are not included with the set. This product is designed to last up to 5 years in optimal conditions and 2 years in harsh conditions, but may require replacement sooner depending on conditions. Each set is sold as one unit.

IMPORTANT: Please read for important information. In this material we have tried to provide some requirements stated in the CPSC Handbooks, ASTM F2373-11, F1487-11 and F1148-09. However, we in no way intend for this to be a complete list of requirements. Also these publications are updated frequently with changes therefore, you should read these publications yourself to determine if any part or installation could prove a danger to a child.
To help keep children safe from harm, review installation and maintenance instructions before installing equipment. These are located in the description of every product on our website. Download and print these instructions and keep in a safe place. Our website also has a “Product Testing Information” page. All products are tested for lead, phthalates and tensile strength. You can also call us at 1-800-227-7529 for more information.
Due to the thermodynamics and lower heat transfer properties of plastics they insulate better and don’t transfer the heat as quickly. Because of these properties, the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) recommends plastic slides and plastic surfaces over bare metal.
Regardless of lower heat transfer properties, plastic play equipment can still become hot enough in extreme temperatures and direct sunlight to cause burns. As is the case with all playground equipment, parents and supervisors must monitor the children in their care, make certain that the equipment is appropriate for their age, and always check playground surfaces for excessive heat before allowing children to play. For more information, contact IPEMA headquarters at www.communications@ipema.org or by calling 1‐717‐238‐1744.
Installation: Our parts are sold as either replacement parts or components of a set, unless you are buying our Metal Frame Set, therefore these parts need to be installed according to the set’s installation instructions. If the installation instructions differ from ours please contact us at 800-227-7529.
Determine difficulty and height wanted. For one set of rocks, use 1” plywood, for taller set, use thicker plywood. Plan configuration wanted for rocks. Place rock on board and mark with pencil where holes need to be drilled. Drill a pilot hole for 3/8” lag bolt for large hole and #14 for small hole for each rock. Then using a 9/16” socket, screw 3/8” lag bolt into rock. Do not tighten until second bolt is installed. Using a socket, screw in the #14 wood screw or bolt. Tighten both screws or bolts. Continue procedure until all twenty-four bolts are screwed in completely. Make sure no sharp point protrudes beyond back of plywood.
Maintenance: Before and after play season and once a month during play season, check that bolts are tight. Make sure there is no cracked plastic, cracks in wood or splinters. Make sure there are not sharp edges or bolts showing through wood. Replace parts as needed. Maintain detailed inspection and maintenance records for public-use playground equipment.
Any damage from vandalism, abuse or misuse VOIDS all warranties.
