Our 1/4″ Trivalent chain is a reliable choice for playground equipment in coastal areas due to its zinc-plated chain and trivalent coating. It meets all ASTM requirements and has a consistent bright finish. The chain is 4/0 Aught and Grade 30, with links that are 1″ long and an opening that is 1/2″ wide, compatible with any of our S-hooks or Shackles. This product should last up to 5 years in optimal conditions and 2 years in harsh conditions, although certain factors may require replacement sooner. With a tensile strength of 3200 lbs, it is sold per foot or by the pail of 250′.
This is for children 0 – 12 years old only. Adults should supervise children at all times. Do not allow children to use unsafely. Do not allow it to be used if damaged.

Installation: Our parts are sold as either replacement parts or components of a set, unless you are buying our Metal Frame Set, therefore these parts need to be installed according to the sets installation instructions. Chain should always be attached using the last link in length of chain. Assembly will depend upon use. Use an S-hook or Shackle to attach chain to swing seat and/or swing hanger. Close according to Fig. A1.19 for Fastening Devices.
Maintenance: At beginning and end of each play season and once a month during play season, check for rusty or worn chain. Carefully check hole around fastener to look for wear. Check for vandalism. Replace parts if necessary. Check to make sure S-hooks and/ or H-shackles are closed properly. Maintain detailed inspection and maintenance records for public-use playground equipment.
