Our Stainless Steel 1/4″ chain is designed to resist rust and meets all ASTM requirements. It has a consistent bright finish and is ideal for use in coastal areas. The chain is 4/0 Aught and Grade 30, with links that are 1″ long and an opening that is 1/2″ wide. You can use any of our S-hooks or shackles with this chain. It is important to note that chain bought from non-playground manufacturers may lack quality control, resulting in weak links and air bubbles.
This chain is sold by the foot or in a pail of 250′. It is built to last 2 years in harsh conditions and up to 5 years in optimal conditions, although some conditions may require replacement sooner. By purchasing this high-quality, playground-grade chain, you can ensure the safety and longevity of your swing set or other playground equipment.
This is for children 0 – 12 years old only. Adults should supervise children at all times. Do not allow children to use unsafely. Do not allow it to be used if damaged.

Installation: Our parts are sold as either replacement parts or components of a set, unless you are buying our Metal Frame Set, therefore these parts need to be installed according to the sets installation instructions. Chain should always be attached using the last link in length of chain. Assembly will depend upon use. Use an S-hook or Shackle to attach chain to swing seat and/or swing hanger. Close according to Fig. A1.19 for Fastening Devices.
Maintenance: At beginning and end of each play season and once a month during play season, check for rusty or worn chain. Carefully check hole around fastener to look for wear. Check for vandalism. Replace parts if necessary. Check to make sure S-hooks and/ or H-shackles are closed properly. Maintain detailed inspection and maintenance records for public-use playground equipment.
