Description

Our 5/16″ steel swing chain has a smooth zinc finish is 7/O Aught and Grade 30. The links are 1 ½“long and the opening is ½” wide. All of our shackles and S-hooks work with this chain. The 5/16” steel chain has very short links to help prevent small children from putting their fingers in the links and injuring themselves if they fall off the swing.  This product should last 2 years in harsh conditions and up to 5 years in optimal conditions. Some conditions may require replacement sooner.  Tensile strength 5000 lbs. Sold per foot or barrels of 550′.

This is for children 0 – 12 years old only. Adults should supervise children at all times. Do not allow children to use unsafely. Do not allow it to be used if damaged.

Installation: Our parts are sold as either replacement parts or components of a set, unless you are buying our Metal Frame Set, therefore these parts need to be installed according to the sets installation instructions. Chain should always be attached using the last link in length of chain. Assembly will depend upon use.  Close according to Fig A1.19 for Fastening Devices.  

Maintenance: At beginning and end of each play season and once a month during play season, check for rusty or worn chain.   Carefully check hole around fastener to look for wear. Check for vandalism. Replace parts if necessary. Check to make sure S-hooks and/ or H-shackles are closed properly. Maintain detailed inspection and maintenance records for public-use playground equipment.
